I think you mean software? Or hardware driver? If its the driver search for it online and you can get it through whomever made your audio interface. If it was a recording program or something like Itunes you might need to re-install.

This points at a large format video and a slow computer to me. Sound and video while both in the same same file are decoded independently so the sound can come through fine and the video is jerky.
Try the video on another more up to date PC and if all is fine I think its time for upgrading.

What I did was simply restart the computer
Then go to control panel and select audio
You should be on audio devices
click the drop down box and select the only audio device on there

If 320/48khz doesn't satisfy you, then you're doing something wrong.
Use a better ripper in the future - CDex is a great program that uses the Lame mp3 codec, it is the best quality codec out there. So many people rip with Windows Media Player or some crappy pos program like that, and that is one reason why even files that should sound good don't. You've got to use a decent quality program for it to sound good.
What are you listening on? Because if its earbuds, then you're deluding yourself - nothing will sound that good over earbuds, even CD quality. If you're listening on a nice high-end sound system, well duh, a good system reveals the flaws in a poorly encoded/ripped song... and the limitations of a compressed file will stick out. If that's the case, then get a tube preamp, it will help greatly.... but even then, with a system like that even CD quality won't probably sound good enough for you.... you may just have to find SACD albums....
WAV files have the highest quality, because they aren't compressed. FLAC and OGG are next in line. 320 kbps mp3 is the highest quality of mp3 you can get. I wouldn't use WMA or AAC at all, personally.
It all comes down to how well its ripped, though. If the CD player or CD is glitchy, if the computer isn't optimized for ripping, if the computer is being used for other stuff while ripping/encoding, etc it's going to lower the quality.

I'm not crazy with the audio quality of lossy files, either. You can always just rip WAV files, which are CD quality, but the downside is that the files are huge, and you can't tag them in most media players (in other words, you can't add cover art or alter artist/title info).
To try to save space, you can try a lossless format, like FLAC or WMA Lossless. None of the information gets thrown out, but the files are roughly 60% the size of a WAV (in my experience, anyway).
Another option is to try a variable bitrate. Then you can still use a lossy format and save some disk space, but the bitrate adjusts as needed throughout the song, in order to preserve as much of the sound quality as possible.

My sound icon and use of any sound devices is gone. I get the yellow error sign next to multimedia audio control. I have tried all trouble shooting, system controls, add/remove, system tools,device manager, Microsoft product updates etc....no luck. You can filter out some of the white noise, and such with adobe but adobe is the best you are going to get. If that does not work it is your mic you need to replacewhite hair

Can you help me clear up my issue with audio systems?
So I have had 2 people that have been involved in audio systems for a decent amount of years and they have both given me different answers to my question. I asked, if I were looking to create an audio system in my car that would have an amazing stereo imaging and soundstage effect then how many watts rms should i have going to my subs if i have 50 watts rms going to 4 of my speakers. One person said that it is always best to have as many watts rms to the sub as you do total for all 4 speakers. So that would be 200 watts rms to the sub if i had 50 watts rms going to the speakers. The other person said that it is always best to have double the amount of power to the sub/s as you do the speakers. So that would be 400 watts rms. I'm not a bass enthusiast or anything. I am just trying to create an environment that will give my music a ';real';, ';life-like'; feel to it. I want my music to seem as if i were sitting front stage of the band. I want to be able to hear every note the way that it should be heard. So i guess my ultimate question is: Which one is right?

So if your going to get subs it really depends on what you want your subs to do do you want to feel it in your seat subs (Thump) or do you want fast beat subs... Different subs do different things and cost different amounts of money.
oh and in all honestly if your looking for theater like sound why are you letting your deck drive your speakers... You should have an Amp on those speakers in the front.

several causes for no sound. is the volume control wheel where fitted turned up?
is your soundcards audio turned up and not muted either on the WAV (for video discs) or CD for standard CD audio?
in the media player there is a volume control independant of your main audio control panel. so is this correctly configured and not muted and turned up?
there could be a driver problem preventing you copying the CDs or may be theyta re copy protected and so can not be copied.
these are simple to fix justclick where needed to unmute the audio and adjust the sliders to turn the audio up.
also make sure that you have the audio output set correctly. either the internal speakers or external speakers. you need the windows control panel and sound and audio devices to adjust audio devices and speaker configuration.

several causes for no sound. is the volume control wheel where fitted turned up?
is your soundcards audio turned up and not muted either on the WAV (for video discs) or CD for standard CD audio?
in the media player there is a volume control independant of your main audio control panel. so is this correctly configured and not muted and turned up?
there could be a driver problem preventing you copying the CDs or may be theyta re copy protected and so can not be copied.
these are simple to fix justclick where needed to unmute the audio and adjust the sliders to turn the audio up.
also make sure that you have the audio output set correctly. either the internal speakers or external speakers. you need the windows control panel and sound and audio devices to adjust audio devices and speaker configuration.

How do you clear saved audio files from LimeWire???
Before I used to download a song from LimeWire and once in the saved folder on LimeWire I would click on the song and Launch it and it would show up on ITunes and play and that song would clear from the Saved Files on LimeWire. It Depends what kind of system you are running, if it stalls and skips it may be that your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play the video - If you could post some system specs I'd have a better idea of what the problem is and how to fix it

Recently I do have a new computer, but all of the equipment I use is more superior, for example, for the 5th show, I was using a Packard Bell W1801 and just the on-board Realtek soundcard, however, for the more recent shows, I've been using a Packard Bell iMedia 2770 and a CreativeLabs USB SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX, (when using the internal sound-card, it came out all warped and distorted).
I host the show via Skype(Out).

I'm using the magix audio trial program and since it's trial I can't export the audio after i'm finished editing it. There are a lot of audio programs out there such as Audacity, but one way or another it will involve a process of re-encoding the entire video or extracting, editing and re-muxing the adjusted audio. Your best bet, in my experience, all told, is probably to use a program like Sony Vegas or a similar Non-Linear Video editor. You would then render the video with the adjusted audio. What you want to do is amplify and dynamically compress the audio or use a noise reduction algorithm, both can provide very different results and I can not say which is best for your video. This is not an easy to understand process for people who are not very experienced in audio and video editing. The concept of it is that you are ';turning down the volume'; below a certain level of volume (the noise) and ';increasing the volume'; above a certain level of volume (The sounds you want to be heard). It ALWAYS takes a bit of messing around with the settings to get it the way you want it.
Also note that you can't just change it and click save. You will need to rerender, or extract the audio perform the same adjustments to your audio and remux it with the video. That is typically more difficult to do as its' not as common a method. I'm pretty sure TMPGENC (Tsunami MPEG Encoder) can do this.
Also one unknown of sorts is the video itself. .dat is not really standard for video is it from / compressed for a VCD? I would hazard to guess that it is MPG from a VCD, however, if it is not you may find it harder to use the muxing process I described above, and may find you are best off using the edit and re-render method.

I have the Sony HDR-SR1 camcorder and I want to get a great microphone for clean clear audio. I heard that attaching microphones to the mic input jack is not as good as getting an XLR microphone and adapter for the camera. Is this true? I have used the Sony Bluetooth wireless microphone with the HDR-SR1 with great results. It has a mount that goes in the hotshoe on top of the camcorder and then you clip on the microphone to whoever you are trying to record. It works well over 50 feet from the camcorder and you don't have to deal with wires or things coming unplugged while you are recording.

Professionals mics start at about $50 and up to well over a thousand of dollars. Adding a professional mic will definitely help, but I don't believe you will get professional quality audio out of your camcorder.

if u want high quality playback without hiss,popup and noise.
do record via Soundforge it has noise cancelling in recording setting it self,.like it chooses noise floor and start recording above the noise floor decible rate.and plus it also has a noise reduction plugin,.

It's virtually impossible to make vinyl tracks sound ';CD quality'; no matter what you do. If the records are scratched, they'll sound scratched when you upload them to Audacity. However, with a bit of work you should be able to improve them somewhat.
Let's start with the sound source. If you're running your record player through an amplifier, check that the EQ settings (treble, bass etc) are ';flat';, that is, set to 0 or neutral. If the sound is still muffled, try putting the treble up and the bass down a bit. Make sure all the cable connections are firm (try twisting them in the sockets to remove corrosion). And, most importantly, check that the record player needle is free of dust, as well as the records.
Next, make sure the input signal to your computer is nice and loud. Assuming your vinyl player is plugged into the Line In socket on your computer, the selected input source should be ';Line In';, not ';Stereo Mix'; or anything else. Click the recording level meter in the top right corner of Audacity to monitor the input signal (if the record is playing, you should see the red bars moving). Use the recording level slider to bring the audio signal up so it hovers around at about -12db, or as high as you can safely make it without EVER letting it touch the right end of the meter, even in the loudest parts of the song (this is very important).
After uploading to Audacity, you can sometimes improve the quality of the recording by trying out the Noise Reduction feature in the Effects menu. Select a ';silent'; piece of audio with just the static, click on ';Get Noise Profile';, then select the whole track and apply the noise reduction. You can move the slider to experiment with different amounts of noise reduction - I recommend starting near the low end. (Remember to undo the effect before trying it again.) However, if the static is too loud you will probably hear noise artifacts (weird whistling or watery sounds) even on low levels of noise reduction, so be careful. You can undo any changes you make.

i want to have about an 8 in sub and better speakers than the ones stock in my 02 accord ex coupe i also need an amp but im not expecting a blow my ears out with sound i want a good clear sound i can feel and that passerbys can hear just enough to know what music is playing ....do i need to worry about a head unit? will the stock one do?what kind of power do i need ?do i need to worry about my alternator or battery ? having no expierience should i try this project myself? what will it cost for self installation rather than if i get someone else to do it? how difficult of a task is this for me?in laymans terms how can i get the best sounding stereo on a budget of no more than 1000 dollars? primarily concerned with the actual componants on my car going bad if i have too much power coming off my stereo. what can i do to have my car and stereo running tight?What do i need for a clear sounding car audio system ?
Hears a nice, simple system, that still kicks some @$$.
Go to best buy, and pick up a of Insignia 12' subs and amp combo, they run like $150, then get a nice ported box (I'm assuming you're wanting to put them in your trunk), it needs to be at least 1.25 cft., and a Rockford fostgate wiring kit. That'll be it for the subs, other than a couple of drywall screws to mount them with. As far as speakers, Honda does a pretty good job with their stock speaker locations, in comparison to some other companies, but I'd recommend upgrading at least the rear 6x9s. Alpine and Pioneer both make very good co-axle 6x9 replacements that run about $100 a pair. Alpines have a much more natural sound, now that they have silk tweeters, but I'm pretty sure pioneers now have silk too, so it really comes down to a coin flip. At this point, you're up to about $500 just for speakers, and if you decide that you want to replace the in-door speakers upfront, they'll be another $100, but I'd recommend waiting on those, cuz the rear speakers should fill in the sound enough compensate for the stock front speakers. With the last $500, i'd recommend upgrading your deck if it's stock, to something a little higher end. If you have rear-outs on your stock deck, that's cool, but I'd recommend uping it to a pioneer premier P680MP, it's a little pricey (bout $400), but it'll make stock speakers sound like components, and it's got tons of options, so you can really ';dial-in'; your sound.Stay away from Kenwood, Dual, and Insignia decks if at all possible, cuz they wont give you the control you need. As far as locations, Accords are pretty tight on space, and although I prefer the trunk for the amp, i've found that in accords, a pretty simple thing to do is to put the amp under the passenger side seat if at all possible, but if it's too tight, just be sure that it's on the left side of the trunk, away from the exhaust, and that you do not bolt it to the box. Other than that, you should be taken care of speaker wise, for $500. Install is fairly simple if you are atleast remotely familiar with your car. If you are totally lost on the install, try to get help before you take it to a shop, cuz you are basiclly throwing away money at that point. Regardless of wether you are going to have it installed, or you want to tackle it yourself, some things you need to think about: Location for a remote I/O switch for the amp (you don't want it on all the time), ways to cover all your components so that it doesn't become an instant hot list for car thefts. Also something to think about, the subs may distort the rear 6x9s, so you may want to install some rubber boots along with the 6x9s, they run about $15 a pair, and are definetly worth the money, a license plate frame with 4 holes, so you can secure your license plate (to prevent rattling), and some dynamate for the trunk to stop rattles (just a sheet for two on the back side of the trunk should do). I'm runng 400 watts to my front, rear, and bandpass sub box, and it can be heard over my exhaust...which is quite loud on my ';84 Blazer

You should always match up RMS (Root Mean Square) watts of Subs and amp per channel as well as impedance's(resistances). When a sub has rating of 600 Watts MAX it really has an RMS rating of about 200 Watts RMS. RMS is the nominal wattage your most likely going to get out of it. Remember, a 200 Watts RMS amplifier has more power output than a 200 Watt MAX.
If your amp is rated at 4惟 don't subject it to 2惟, it will fry.
Here is the formula for subs in parallel:
Z = 1 / (1/sub1 + 1/sub2 + 1/sub3 + ....)
For series, just add them up (sub1 + sub2 + ...).
You can mix and match these equations to get the right impedance required by your amp.
Example 1: Amp is 2 channel and rated at 4惟, 4 subs @ 4惟 each. If I connect two in parallel and the other two in parallel and connect the two pairs in series, I would have a total impedance(resistance) of 4惟. So to the amp, it's just one sub.
Example 2: Amp is rated 1惟 mono, 2 subs @ 4惟 each dual voice coil. If I connect two voice coils in parallel and the other two voice coils in series and connect the two subs in parallel, I would have a total impedance of 1.6惟. Which would be perfect for a 1惟 stable mono amp.
You should use a capacitor as well.
Recommend for every 500 watts MAX you use a .5 Farad cap
Example: 1000 watts MAX - 1 Farad cap
You will also need what's called a ';line level converter'; if your stock head unit doesn't have RCA outputs or your amp doesn't have high-level inputs.

Total cost(so far) = $410
Keep It Simple, replace your head unit ($200-$400), ur speakers($100-$300), sum subs($100-$500), and an amp %26amp; amp kit($200+) try looking on the web before you go to best buy or some local stores, ebay.
Another tip is to make sure you run your amp wires AWAY from any other wires going to your speakers. That way you don't get the annoying whine when you rev your engine.white hair
Hears a nice, simple system, that still kicks some @$$.
Go to best buy, and pick up a of Insignia 12' subs and amp combo, they run like $150, then get a nice ported box (I'm assuming you're wanting to put them in your trunk), it needs to be at least 1.25 cft., and a Rockford fostgate wiring kit. That'll be it for the subs, other than a couple of drywall screws to mount them with. As far as speakers, Honda does a pretty good job with their stock speaker locations, in comparison to some other companies, but I'd recommend upgrading at least the rear 6x9s. Alpine and Pioneer both make very good co-axle 6x9 replacements that run about $100 a pair. Alpines have a much more natural sound, now that they have silk tweeters, but I'm pretty sure pioneers now have silk too, so it really comes down to a coin flip. At this point, you're up to about $500 just for speakers, and if you decide that you want to replace the in-door speakers upfront, they'll be another $100, but I'd recommend waiting on those, cuz the rear speakers should fill in the sound enough compensate for the stock front speakers. With the last $500, i'd recommend upgrading your deck if it's stock, to something a little higher end. If you have rear-outs on your stock deck, that's cool, but I'd recommend uping it to a pioneer premier P680MP, it's a little pricey (bout $400), but it'll make stock speakers sound like components, and it's got tons of options, so you can really ';dial-in'; your sound.Stay away from Kenwood, Dual, and Insignia decks if at all possible, cuz they wont give you the control you need. As far as locations, Accords are pretty tight on space, and although I prefer the trunk for the amp, i've found that in accords, a pretty simple thing to do is to put the amp under the passenger side seat if at all possible, but if it's too tight, just be sure that it's on the left side of the trunk, away from the exhaust, and that you do not bolt it to the box. Other than that, you should be taken care of speaker wise, for $500. Install is fairly simple if you are atleast remotely familiar with your car. If you are totally lost on the install, try to get help before you take it to a shop, cuz you are basiclly throwing away money at that point. Regardless of wether you are going to have it installed, or you want to tackle it yourself, some things you need to think about: Location for a remote I/O switch for the amp (you don't want it on all the time), ways to cover all your components so that it doesn't become an instant hot list for car thefts. Also something to think about, the subs may distort the rear 6x9s, so you may want to install some rubber boots along with the 6x9s, they run about $15 a pair, and are definetly worth the money, a license plate frame with 4 holes, so you can secure your license plate (to prevent rattling), and some dynamate for the trunk to stop rattles (just a sheet for two on the back side of the trunk should do). ok so when i have this game called ';diablo 2'; running, the audio sounds crystal clear. bg music, youtube videos, AIM sounds, etc they all sound really clear, but when i close diablo 2, everything becomes muffled. the audio sounds really distorted and stuff. i have all the latest drivers and this never happened before. it started last month. why is this and how do i fix it?

What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
I've been asked to shoot video at a concert (paid) and want to make sure the audio is clear. I've seen people with little fuzzy mics attached to the camera before. Any suggestions?What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
You have several options - AFTER getting permission from the band and the venue management...
1) Use a camcorder with manual audio control
The least expensive camcorders that have this are the Canon VV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7 and HC9.
2) Use a field recorder like the earlier poster said... Zoom, Edirol, M-Audio, Marantz and others are available. Good ones are not cheap. Then replace the video audio with the audio from the field recorder when you edit.
3) Get a board feed... But the only way you get good audio using this method is if EVERYTHING is mic'd or has a DI box and the audio engineer on the board knows what they are doing. They need to send the camcorder its own discreet mix - NOT what the house mains are getting... Especially if it is a small or medium venue - the singer and any other quiet sound sources will be mic'd but the guitar, bass and drums may not be - or only mic'd a little because they can be loud without going through the PA system. If you take the house mix, you will hear LOTS of vocals and very little guitar, bass, drums... it will sound like garbage. If you get a board feed, you will want an XLR adapter if your camcorder has a mic-in jack... if your camcorder has not 1/8'; mic-in jack, you cannot use this option. Do not depend on the audio person to take care of YOUR camcorder's cabling needs. Bring your own cables and adapters.What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
The sound guys normally wud record audio from the production mixer/sound processors/amps to cd usually on Tascam rack-mounted recorders. Most audio systems used for concerts have vocals %26amp; all musical instruments lined-in (controlled thru the audio mixer to ensure balanced audio)... not much hazzle for you, just the camcorder... a tri-cam set-up would be average, not to bore the video audience later w/ one angle and jarring shots as u change locations.
If you cud get hold of a copy, that wud be the best audio to import to video editing app. Sync the cd audio with that of the vcam's video file audio before muting the latter.
I suggest you get in contact with the live audio guy before hand. Ask him for a feed and go directly into one of the channels of audio on one of your cameras. If you can't get a line to the cam, buy a hand-held digital recording device like this:
